it didn't work. so heres what i did. Code: # grub.conf generated by anaconda # # Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file # NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that # all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg. # root (hd0,0) # kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root # initrd /initrd-[generic...

Hi! I have a sony vaio fw laptop, with a 1920x1080 screen. I want to put puppy linux on my flash drive, which requires booting from the cd and running the wizard. anyways, i can't for the life of me get the os to run with the proper resolution for my screen. i've tried both xorg and xvesa (i think thats what its called) and the highest i can get to work is 1440x1024 which looks really blurry...

I've created a bootable Live USB flash drive containing Puppy Linux using LiveLinux USB creator. The problem is, it won't boot on my Dell Dimension 9150, but it will boot on a Dell Optiplex 755. The error I get says the system cannot boot from selected drive press F1 to try again, F2 to enter bios setup. The BIOSes are near identical in their configuration. USB devices are enabled in the boot...

Jeg har lagt den på USB, om jeg ikke nevnte det. Det fungerer forøvrig helt topp med boot og lagring mellom hver gang. Ellers så er jo Seamonkey browseren lynrask.

GADawg wrote: You could also try Xubuntu. It uses XFCE as the desktop environment instead of Gnome. It also replaces OpenOffice with Abiword and Gnumeric applications. It should run faster than Ubuntu on slower hardware. I don't know if it is as optimized as Puppy or not. I looked up the system requirements for both Puppy and Xubuntu. It appears Puppy might be more optimized to run on ...

I would agree with Mac The Knife about Puppy Linux. Very small and has most general applications. It has a lot of Wi-Fi drvers already installed. So it shouldn't be to much trouble to set up the Wi-Fi connection. Also, has a couple of graphic drivers which cover most basic options. Instructions are also quite straight forward and the forum is helpful. I used it to breathe life into an ...
