I will be in Punta Arenas for several nights this November with my husband and 4-year-old. What is the nicest hotel in Punta Arenas? I don't care if it is modern/hip vs. old fashioned/elegant. I do prefer comfortable rooms that don't feel like a musty motel. I know this is practically the end of the world so I can't expect too much but I'd like to be in as nice a place as possible. I ...

A great place to live and invest in: Punta del Este was founded 101 years ago as a summer resort for Buenos Aires' dwellers. At the time the small town was a crossbreed between a small town in the Mediterranean and a English fishing town. Beggining in the 50s however the small beachside resort turned into the international Jet-Set capital of South America, and has been booming ever since...

I am trying to follow the weather for Punta Cana, Domincan Republic to see if there is any chance that it will be hit by any of the 3 tropical storms/hurricanes (Hanna, Ike and Josephine) that I think might be coming it's way. We are leaving for our honeymoon on Monday as long as there isn't a hurricane?! Anyone have any info about the weather this upcoming week in Punta Cana? I want to make ...

Hey everyone... going to Punta Cana in 5 days and it seems that this year has produced several storms in such a short time span. Is anyone else travelling at this time? Looks like there's another storm approaching the area... BTW, if you've been, can you recommend the best excursions and nightlife? Two gals going

I stayed at the Punta Cana Princess last year and FI & I absolutely loved it!!! I highly recommend the resort, it was very clean and the staff was entertaining. We were just in a regular room, but we had an awesome location facing the beach and the room service is great!! We used the VIP package and would definitely recommend it if it is not included in the honeymoon package (BTW the honeymoon ...

It was a few years back, but when I was in Punta Arenas, the nicest hotel was Jose Nogueira. It was not plush, but nice enough as I recall. The room we had was large and had some amount of charm, but the bath was utilitarian. At the time, it seemed the best choice. There obviously may be something newer. The hotel is in the center of town. I don't recall there being much near the airport....

What days are you flying. AA and USAirways both fly there in Nov, so does Delta. Our tickets were about 900 total, but that's because we were going to fly on Thanksgiving day (that flight got cancelled but our fare was honored so now we fly out a day later).
