I'm spending three months at a University in France and they use a proxy server. I've never used one before so there has been a steep learning curve for me. The server settings are set through a pac file and I have the address for that. There are several programs (ichat, skype, itunes and safari) that I have been unable to get working. After asking the googles, I discovered authoxy...

No matter how I set my proxy settings in the System Preferences, I can't get the iTunes Store to open. It's happened in both releases of iTunes 8 so far, as well as some of the last releases of iTunes 7. All the proxy settings I try work with Safari and System update, but for some reason iTunes refuses to acknowledge the proxy settings or something. The problem exists on both the ...

Can anyone help? Recently at my job they increased security(?) by running all of our online activities through proxy servers. Additionally, updates for various softwares and security stuff are often pushed onto our desktop PCs at night or over the weekends. I'm looking for an open source proxy server that is able to rewrite all of the urls in the pages before it sends them to the user such that the domain now contains the proxy server. For example, the user accesses the following page on my proxy server, test.com: http://google.test.com/search?q=blah Not only does my proxy server download http://www.google.com/search?q=blah and pass it to the ...

Hi everyone we are looking into using VCB and legato for our vmware backups. Our Virtual Center runs on a dedicated windows server 2003 box. I was just wondering can the VCB proxy server be the same physical server, or will it need to be on a physical server of its own?? Your help is much appreciated

Hello, I've been having a problem connecting to a standard ASMX file via WCF when going through a proxy server. My setup is a little confusing, so I'll try to explain it first before the problem ... I have a series of services, some front-end interfaces (FE) for back-end services (BE) that themselves may be an interface ...

Proxy Server List Keeping up with web proxy servers on the Internet can be a time consuming task. Proxies come and go that quickly that one could say it is nearly impossible to keep up unless someone would use scripts to check the web proxies automatically. The web proxy server list posted on Ghacks dates back two years and the main reason it was not updated is the fact that ...

Re-download and install iTunes 8.0.1 again. This will install iTunes 8.0.1 (12) over the existing 8.0.1 (11) version. Are you then able to connect to the iTunes Store?

Here I don't care about switches (at layer 2) i don't care about vlans, I care about routes. Hopefully rhelaine's dmz diagram makes things look simple in theory, and you can then apply that to the infrastructure you have. but you really should look to avoid routing ...
