No matter how I set my proxy settings in the System Preferences, I can't get the iTunes Store to open. It's happened in both releases of iTunes 8 so far, as well as some of the last releases of iTunes 7. Re-download and install iTunes 8.0.1 again. This will install iTunes 8.0.1 (12) over the existing 8.0.1 (11) version. Are you then able to connect to the iTunes Store?
