I started a thread last March about this. Now that the end of the year is nearing, I'm thinking about property taxes again. From the other thread... "The town website said they assess for FY09 on Jan 1, 08. On Jan 1, 08, they use data from 2007. That is very disturbing providing I'm reading it correctly. The home was assessed at $360,700 in 2007. I think with these foreclosed homes that people bought, what the county has done instead of basing the taxes on the cheap foreclosed price, they...

Hi, we just bought the house in Sept. and I wonder when and how should we pay the property tax. Are we supposed to get a bill asking us to pay for it ? or we can voluntarily choose to pay any time during the year ? but, to whom ? Â Thanks.
