Gents, I'll be hosting Roger Philips class on Point Shooting Progressions in Reno, Nevada on Sat-Sun, April 17-18, 2010. The class will be held at the Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility. Force on force training has proven beyond any argument that the traditional shooting range methods are simply not suitable for reactive gunfighting. In this course, Suarez International...

Creating riffs/chord progressions to practice improv. I have always been interested in improvisation on an instrument, and I do it whenever I can when playing with other people. They usually start playing something, and I'll just come in soloing. Granted I am not very good at it, but that's why I want to practice! I came across a program ...

Often chord progressions are given in roman numbers which is a great way of analysing them but when playing them in a given key I'd like to have them translated to explicit chords. So what I'm looking for is a tool where I can type in like I, V, IV give the key C and out comes C, G, F e.g and then change key to Fm and out comes Fm, ... etc Is there such a tool?

I don't know what they are or how I use them. Can I get some help, please. They keep talking about this F major down progression or something in a book about Wilco and I don't know what it is.

i think that the box art for modern warfare two is the best because in cod4 and W@W the dude is running into the scene, but in mw2 the dude is walking into the battle. you have to be one bad *** person to walk into a warzone IMO. see what i mean?

This is a simple but effective way to practice over chord changes. It's low tech. I use it to practice jazz but it can work for all types pretty much. Now, I'm assuming you know arpeggios, the major scale or pentatonics. I'm not getting into that. This is just a way to practice playing over chords. Using the song "All Things You Are" for this example. In key of Ab. The first 8 ...

Watched the game again last night and Matt was not following through and had happy feet on many of his passes. He did not do a very good job of looking off or going through his progressions. On a few plays where the DE\'s were lining up wide and getting around the corner, he needed to take a step or two up and he would have had the time. Hopefully, coach Bates can work with him this week.

I cant seem to find a site or book or post that explains composition deeply. Most basically end on how to put chords progressions together. Im looking for something that is based on chord progressions of different styles and different eras, and could explain some advanced composing techniques. Is this information available?

it's a good thing band hero doesn't boo you off stage (one of the features that makes it the ultimate party game). i never really paid attention to pop. man, the progressions, the rhythms, the vocal acrobatics...it's like jazz, but slightly more listenable. at least taylor swift rocks out with my 4 on the floor and predictable progressions, i feel like a caveman ---- my dance tunes ...

Haven't posted for a loooong while. I made this yesterday, so it's actually just a rough. But I put a lot of creative ideas into this one, with all the chord progressions, movement and rhythm, decorations, etc. The mixing is okay so far, but it's not mastered. I'll post up the final version once I finish with it. Hope you guys enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkppUJNybdM...

I want to export my keynote slideshow to QT, and have practiced the slide timing and progressions to align to music. However, when I go to record the slideshow, I get an audio record function (presumably to record your voice with the slides). This causes the music to be doubled, and sound terrible. How can I record the slideshow to only retain the song that is embedded in the ...

Are there any particular modes, progressions, chord types or "strategies" that are used frequently in post-rock bands such as mogwai, explosions in the sky, god is an astronaught, signal hill, bonobo, bitcrush...and so on since the sounds from these bands can vary ALOT... to be more specific, songs that are more mellow, calming, slow, mesmerizing, soothing, and whatnot i'm sort ...
