Hello, I have a late 2006 MacPro with an ATI X1900 512MB graphics card. I have an old NVida 7300 GT 256MB graphics card not installed. With Snow Leopard, would having both installed help processing power, giving Snow Leopard's OpenCL? Or would the extra card just slow things up by re-allocating CPU power to see the un used graphics card just sitting there?...

Stupid question but do you think graphics cards in the future ( 10-20 years) have the processing power of an i7? You will think now "impossible" but look at how much graphics cards have changed. Before processors used to be 700mhz. Now graphics cards can now have 700mhz. And now there getting close to 1.4ghzs which is the same as a pentium 4 processor ( i think? ). Remember its the future. ...

The ipod touch 8gb is $230 on the apple store and the iphone 8gb is $200. If the iphone is also a phone why is the ipod touch more expensive? What features does one have but not the other? ________________ To view links in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily.

hmm, the Mac I use at work is a 2.4ghz Dual Core with 2gb of RAM, my Mac at home is a 2.5ghz Quad Core with 4gb of RAM. I find that I can work with the video no problem, it's only when I layer lots of effects and render them that it takes a while.

How long does the iPhone battery last before replacement? Like charge cycle wise, not time. Like I heard it was 300 charges then you need to send in for replacement? If it is 300, is it 300 FULL charges? As in your iPhone dies, and won't turn on because it has no battery? Or regardless any charges to the dock it counts? ________________

So I've been looking into adding Blu-ray to my HTPC since it's cheaper than just buying a player. My video card doesn't do any video decoding, so is my CPU powerful enough? HTPC is in the sig. And I know the 8800 GTS doens't do anything, but I am not looking to spend an extra $30-$40 bucks on a video card.

You can play blu-ray back with an atom processor even... as long as your video card can handle hardware accelerated video, like the two i have in my signature.

Quote: quotafix isn't the thing using up all the cpu power, whenever it runs, it seems to freeze mysql queries from processing and it adds up to having hundreds of unprocessed queries and then it lags. even if I limit the amount of mysql connections it can have - it still uses up a ton of CPU. What he suggesting exactly what I was going to suggest....
