I have a 2001 Toyota Prius. I am over 100k and the warranty has expired. Today as I was driving home, the check engine (Malfunction Indicator Light) light came on. The car still drives fine. I am taking it to a mechanic in the morning but I was wondering if there is some malfunction that is common among first generation priuses.

Interesting that the Prius now uses the higher efficiency Atkins 4 stroke cycle - thanks Toyota - at least you are trying to extend the life of the old IC engine by improving efficiency. Right now i have dd 5 1/2 in a regent and ds 20 months rf in a marathon. New baby will be here in july. So dd will be 6 and ds 2 1/2. Has anyone gotten 3 seats in the back consistently? I can do an infant seat, a hbb, and a marathon either rf or ff but i need it to be workable consistently. I will be needing to buy a new infant seat and want to know which is the slimmest too. Anyone know how to reset the oil maintenance required text on my 2010 Prius? I am going to start changing my oil like I have on every other toyota I have owned. Trouble is I am not sure how to reset the info. that comes up at the 5k interval. I looked through the threads and tried to search. Only came up with Tundra (my 03 Tundra does not have this feature) thanks in advance. Bill
