When opening a desktop publishing file I will get a dialog showing the names of missing fonts. (if any) The font file names often aren't descriptive of the actual name of the font. ie: 2120A___.TTF is the file name for "Jokerman Alts LET" (try the drag and drop thing for that!) Previewing a few hundred fonts in search of a couple just does not make sense! 1 person needs an answer I do ...

1. There is a built in feature in the disk management to shrink and expand the existing disk partitions on the fly. Though this does not have all the features of similar paid software, but it should be sufficient for most of the Windows users. 2. Totally revamped Kernel similar to Windows 2008 R2. The OS is very stable. 3. IE8 is integrated in the OS and its well known that IE8 is ...

For the third time in a week, Windows 7 has replaced some of my Data files with earlier versions, without my consent, following a reboot. I'm talking about my outlook Data file (outlook.pst), my Quicken data files and a few others. Files are located in different places, but mostly in my Documents folder. What would cause Windows 7 to do this? There are no errors, no crashes and no warning ...

Hello all, I just tried upgrading to Miranda v0.8.10 and all I got was a really bad surprise: All my settings, contacts, backgrounds etc. were gone! OK, I thought, no problem, let's import the database (*.dat) from the previous version. That seemed to work, however, still nothing there. The only thing that appeared were my contact groups, but all of them were empty. Then, I tried with ...

Hi all, I am having problems with updating a setup. To isolate the problem, I created a windows forms application with a single form Displaying a textbox. I added a setup project to my solution and added the output of this project to the Application folder. I set the RemovePreviousVersions = true and gave the Version 1.0.1. I build the solution and everything goes fine. I start the .msi file ...

VSS has been enabled on the C:\ drive of a 2003 Server. I have also successfully run the client software (%systemroot%\system32\clients\twclient\ etc.). If I click on the properties tab of a shared folder, I get the standard tabs- General, Sharing, Security, Web Sharing, and Customize. The Previous Versions Tab/Page does not show up... I should mention that I'm RDP'd into the server looking ...

The disk management was also in Vista. Also, the faster browsing may be just a placebo effect. Your internet did not get faster but the browser was loading faster.

Hi, With the inputs of Phil, I could resolve the issue. I was too used to VS 2005, where a new setup wud replace all exes of the previous install. Apparently, it has changed in VS 2008.(There should be some documentation on this change somewhere, I never found it, Phil if you know please give the link). So what you need to do is, Right click on the project (which has been updated) and ...

Hi Noel. Yes, I'm trying to connect wirelessly. There are two xp machines in the workgroup, I can access one of them all the time, but not the other(most of the times). Both xp machines can access the computer with windows 7. There is also a vista that I can't access most of the times because of the network password. The wireless connection does have a password, but I tried it and it doesn't ...
