I decided to try out the Poynt application from BB App World and was not all that impressed. I uninstalled it and now there is an icon that won't go away. I tried restarts, battery pulls and what more and it still appears. The Icon is labeled Poynt (Archived) and has to do with if i ever decide to reinstall the software, which I don't plan on doing. So how do I get rid of this icon ?

I just got the Curve 8530 for Verizon. I've been tracking down all of the apps I loved on my old Curve, but I can't find Poynt. It's not showing up in Blackberry App World. I went to Poynt's website , entered my email address to have the app setup sent to me, and it never came. I'm assuming this means the app is not available for this model of the Curve, but I'm hoping someone here knows more ...

Hey all. I downloaded Poynt yesterday then enabled my GPS to Location On. However, when I start Poynt it says GPS access is denied and I have to enter the city I'm in to get a location. I'm on Verizon if it makes a difference and I was looking forward to using this program. Out of Poynt, Beyond 411, Sprint Nav, Google Maps and Windows Live Search which works out best for most of you? I have tried to get some answers in other posts, but I haven't seen anything. This is bugging me. When I look up a business/restaurant in Poynt, and "map listing" onto Google Maps, it only shows latitude/longitude - and not the listing name. I am running v3.2.1 for Google Maps and v1.4.2.72 for Poynt. Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ...

when taking a picture my gps icon is red with and x. the geo tagging is on and so is gps. i know some people say if your inside it wont work, but why can google maps find me and poynt?

Yes, I did that. Thank you very much but the real problem is that the Poynt Archive is using storage memory even though it doesn't show that it's an installed app. Update: I was able to uninstall the archive by going into BB App World and then going to My World. There it was and I deleted it. Thank you.

Another vote for Quickpull here, in addition to this I found Viigo and Ubertwitter essential. Poynt was great when needing to find the number for a local store/takeaway

The obsession with weather is amazing to me. Hey, even my wife is so I'm not knockin anyone. Just funny how people like it so much. I use Where app and the weather app in there is just fine.
