Having a problem with my Powered speakers . When I plug them into an outlet , I'm getting a buzzing or a hissing sound , alot louder then they normally are . I don't have anything else plugged into the speaker not even my xlr cable , I'm just plugging them into the outlet , and yes I have tried different outlets . The noise is coming from both the horn and the woofer, I did look for any holes , I...

Since when are speakers considered musical instruments? Shouldn't this have been categorized under electronics?

I have a Yorkville NX720 sub and RCF 12'' x 1'' powered tops. The specs show quite an overlap where they cross. Specs on the sub says it goes up to 150Hz adjustable and the tops start to taper off from 80Hz. 70Hz seems quite a wide overlap response area. The adjustment on the sub doesnt seem to do much. Should I be using an external xover and what settings should I use?

I have a very lightly used pair of MACKIE SR1530z Powered Speakers (2) with custom TUKI padded covers. Will let them go for $1500 for the pair. These are 500 watts each with internal power. I am the original owner and they are about a year and a half old and were used once a week as a vocal PA system on top of 18" subs. Excellent condition. I'll get some pics of the actual speakers later ...

I have an original pair of the old Apple Design Powered Speakers, #M6082. I have them hooked up to my iMac IC2D via the computer mini-plug input. I have a Yamaha sub hooked up to the sub output. They sound great, but I have one problem. The speakers are silent, as long as the computer is awake, but when it goes to sleep, they start to hum loudly. I was using a pair of Yamaha ...

It probably won't sound louder -- better ? I rather doubt that too. Professional musicians I know wont touch onboard or domestic PC card sound boards because of the noise and latency issues. But for your use, either of the Creatives should suffice -- I've always been perfectly happy with Creative sound cards but tend to use onboard now for simplicity and because it's free.
