Hi all. I have a G3 B&W PowerMac, and I've just downloaded & burned the PowerPC version of the Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" liveCD... it will boot my G3, but Ubuntu cannot "see" the internal HDD!. I even took the step of booting it from the Tiger DVD, and partitioning it as one contiguous MBR, FAT32 volume, but the HDD is still undetectable to Ubuntu!. Help!!

PowerMac G3 b&w superdrive upgrade Hi, I'm an Apple freak, and so I'm collecting old macs. I have got an old PowerMac G3 b&w/350 here, and because I don't own a desktop computer (I have a MacBook Pro), I'm frequently using it. Manufactured in 1998, it has only built in a CDROM drive, and of course, it's slow and loud. I have...

Hey Everyone, Just wondering what peoples' opinions are on this; I just picked up a PowerMac G4 Dual 1.25GHz with 2 gigs of memory as a secondary machine to serve some web sites, do a little web browsing and maybe some Photoshop. Do you guys think this machine can handle Leopard and CS4 (I know technically CS4 needs a G5 but people have had no problems using it on G4s) or would I be better...

Hey Oiz here, So I've got my PowerMac G4 up and running, I’m currently waiting for my mouse, keyboard and tablet. I was wondering if any of you Mac “brainiac” know of any PowerMac G4 processors that could help speed up my PowerMac. B/W G3 Usage

After I did successfully add a DVD RAM drive and WiFi to my PowerMac G3, I want to build in a HDD with more space than 12GB and USB 2.0 ports (because the ports on the board itself don't have enough power to power a keyboard and a WiFi stick connected to the keyboard). -> HDD. I have a Rev. 1 G3, so my one has one of the "broken" IDE controllers. I guess I have to get a PCI IDE ...

I noted in Mactracker that large drive support for the Digital Audio is not possible for greater than 128 gig. So if I have a 250 gig hard drive and partition it into TWO 125 gig hard drives, will it be able to identify and use the 250 gig? Thanks
