Slow motion added after each rep for ease of analysis: I also have a vid at 70kg that I whish to post, but for now I still have problems uploading it on youtube, so ...

Here I am making some pathetic attempts at executing power cleans and power snatches. I want to hear some tips on specific things to improve in my technique. I have already noticed that I need to do a MUCH better job at keeping my back straight but I want to hear more. Sorry for the bad video quality, I don't have a proper video camera. I am going to try again soon and make new videos....

Hi, I'm on my 5th week of SS and I'm getting discouraged by the power cleans. I've read the book and watched almost every video on youtube but powers cleans don't feel 'right' when I'm doing them. I know the video quality is really bad but from whatever you can see, could you give me some tips? Thanks! Oh might as well post a vid of my squats as well.

So I have a home gym that I put together with a power rack w/lat tower, 300 lbs of weight, and 5-50 lbs of dumbells. I am currently doing Ripptoes starting strength routine, but I have a problem with power cleans, I wasn't able to get a mat. So doing power cleans is something I really want to replace with other exercises since I don.t want to damage my basement floor, Could anyone lend a hand ...

Do you have to exaggerate the catching the bar to a ATG squat position? Because ALL Olympic level lifters do that, but thats not natural for me, I end up catching it standing up... IDK if thats good form though edit: taking a vid tomorrow for my workout journal

It seems I have a problem getting correct front squat/power clean rack position. When trying to get my elbows high, my wrists and forearms hurt pretty bad. Widening my grip helps slightly, but it seems to affect my overall technique negatively. I am guessing the problem is two fold... lack of flexibility and long forearms. Does anyone have any recommend ideas or solutions to help ...

When doing power cleans (or all sorts of oly pulls, really) I've read that you should try to hit the bar with your hip/top tighs to give it some extra speed. Is this true? I've tried to do it, and it seems to work pretty well. I've been looking at some vids from competitions at youtube, and it seems a lot of lifters are snapping their hips into the bar at the end of the explosive pull. I ...
