My dog chewed the power cord for my mini9 into two parts. It was plugged in and there were a few small sparks. I spliced the coaxial cable together (nice job- soldered connections-shrink tubing) but when I plug in the cable the battery does not charge. I do not have a voltmeter at home to check for voltage at the connector. Should a momentary short zap the power supply ...

I have a Bosch Exxcel diswasher (code on back of machine is 5600041012/04/154/05:52). The other day, part way through the cycle there was a bang and the machine lost power. The fuse had blown and when I changed it and optimistically plugged it in again there was another bang and again the machine had no power. As I had the back exposed this time I did notice the light from an electrical ...

I've had my MBP since August of 2007. When my battery was in better health, I mostly used it plugged in, but occasionally let it run on the battery and die, since I had heard that this was better for the health of the battery. In the last few weeks the battery has hardly held a charge and it has progressively gotten worse. A couple of weeks ago (after the battery problem had already ...

I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. I have a Pavilion dv6628us Entertainment Notebook and have had problems with the junction box on my power cord getting so hot that it bubbles the paper on the box. I have replaced the power cord twice and the battery. I have a brand new cord and it's doing it again. It has to be something with the computer causing the cord to ...

What did I do wrong here? I just added a cord as the last step in my Grizzly G0500 Jointer rebuild. But I definitely did something wrong. Now, whenever I plug the cord into the outlet, the jointer starts right up even though I haven't hit the start button. And when I hit stop, it doesn't stop. The pics show the wiring box. The thickest black, white, and green wires are from the cord. ...

Hey folks, Apologies if this isn't in the right forum but I couldn't see one for Power Supply related problems. I had a good look through Google searches but couldn't find a solution to my problem so I thought I'd seek some help. The problem I have is that when I plug my power cord into my power supply it is very loose and the slightest bump causes it to fall ...

So I could not unplug my laptop (Gateway mx7118, Link below) without it shutting off. It was clear to me that my battery was dead. I ordered a new battery. Its a perfect match in every detail. I plugged it in when I got it and the computer said it was fully charged. I decided to test it out. PROBLEM: When I unplugged the battery, moments later I get a blue screen which I could not ...

I originally bought my MacBook in Canada, and am spending this year in the UK. I've been using a power adaptor/converter while in the UK, usually in my bedroom. I switched to the kitchen today, and while plugged into the outlet there was a HUGE spark. The power cord was still attached to the MacBook, and the power was wavering right before I quickly unplugged it. My question is,...

Those could , but I honestly can't say for sure. Taking the adapter to an electronics store when shopping for the surge protector would be a good idea--the folks there may be able to give you a for-sure answer. ~Lyssa 13" White Macbook; 160 GB black iPod Classic ^_^...
