-- On a recent trip to the cottage I took this picture: Image control: Zoom out | Zoom 100% | Zoom in | Expand / Contract | New window Nikon D40, f/9, 1/400, ISO 200, matrix metering I realized that it was over exposed so I did some post processing, and ended up with this after adding in some contrast, saturation, and a slight blur: Image control: Zoom out...

I opened akpoly's "Post Processing Techniques" thread this afternoon and it got me excited because I thought it was going to be a thread where people could post their techniques. So here's my idea: Most of us probably do a fair amount of photoshop work, including touchups and more rigorous post processing. Some of us, myself included, wonder how you got an image to look just so. ...

What do you Windows users out there use to process RAW files? And what kind of processing do you do? We know that Mitch is using Aperture and some Nikon (?) tool, but I think they are all Mac based. -- /gunnar

Yesterday I posted a picture of a young hawk that had hit our patio window pretty hard. The comments were nice and the advice better. I tried some of the suggestions on another image of the same hawk. From anyone who has time, I'd appreciate comments on how this image turned out. Thanks. I just ran over some photos that I really enjoy because of the post work done to it. Its got a very light airy feeling them but still very vibrant and creamy. I'm not a fan of her compositioning, but the colors make me ignore that fact. I know its done in post because I've emailed the photographer if she would release any of her secrets, but all she just says a lot of photoshopping. So...

I've recently been scouring the web for as much information as I can find about different tips, tricks, and techniques in regards to the many different styles of post processing I have seen. There are some incredible photos out there that are made even better after some spectacular post processing work has been done. I have tried messaging some of the photographers on different forums asking if ...

Howdy Nature ain't my normal thing -- but I saw these two going at it, and grabbed some snaps. I have posted this "nude" -- no pp. Every time I play with it, the greens start to go "neonish" and the orange in the flowers does the same. Can anyone make any recommendations? Thanks!

I was asked to write a little "how-to" article on making false color infrared photos. I use a Hoya R72 filter, kit lens, on a Pentax K100D Super. Since my old version of Photoshop won't take the newfangled plugin for RAWs, I am using the Pentax Milkypix, er, Silkypix software that came with the camera. YMMV - different cameras will behave differently when it comes to sensor site sensitivity to ...

my wife said she could fix her face with makeup... That'd save you hours of photoshopping every photo... But damn... paid shoot and the agency sends you that? That's fucked up man (and that tooth too). I'd seriously would have words with the agency. Did you have an MUA on scene?

I use the "definition" slider a lot in aperture. The files from the 200 take 80, from the 300 about 55-60.

Looking for opinion. What software you are using for sharpening (for web or actual image). If it's NX 1.3 can someone explain the best technique to sharpen the images without affecting the background? I'm interested mainly in birds/wildlife. -- Thanks Jemini Joseph http://www.wildbirdimages.com Image control: Zoom out | Zoom 100% | Zoom in | Expand / Contract | ...
