Every time i try to make my porridge its either too lumpy or too runny. Can I eat oats without turning it to porridge or is the taste to rubbish? also im on scotts oats any good?

Hi, I give my LO porridge everyday for her Breakfast, atm I am using the heinz baby stuff but its costing a fortune as she does take alot. So what I am wondering is when can I give her Ordinary Porridge or Ready Brek and at what age can I make it up with Cows milk and not Formula? x

Well this certainly isnn't healthy, but my mum used to make it when we were kids and it's really nice. Basically, brown the oats off in a tablespoon of ghee then add milk and sugar, might sound weird, but trust me, it's really divine...

Lately a couple of self styled "hop heads" have been asking me for a couple of pellets so they can drop them in their beer at the bar! I have obliged, and they swear by it. As a vegetarian I have found it impossible to spend £65 on food alone. £20 would be the on the high side, but I have porridge for breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening meal all for less than £20. 1.are these things the same? i tried finding brewers yeast and can only find bakers yeast 2.also to the bubhubber with the porridge recipe can you post it in here for me? 3. i have some oats that already have linseed in it if i add flaxseed meal is it too much?

Oaty ideas... Porridge… Mix half a teaspoon of cinnamon into half a cup of rolled oats, add 1.5 cups of milk and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes (make sure the bowl is big enough or it will overflow). Add some chopped dates and a drizzle of maple syrup for sweetness, and some broken walnuts are good too. Swiss-style bircher muesli... 4 tablespoons rolled oats (or 3 +1 tbspn wheat bran) ...
