I'm looking for an economical polarizer for 67mm (my two lenses are 67mm). I know that most here will say get the 100.00+ one. Well, while I totally agree that those are probably the best, they don't fit my budget nor would I use it enough to get that value (prolly only use it a few times a year). I'm looking for the best bang for buck, which would be about 35ish. Hoya makes their standard...

Hi, I bought canon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens and I wanted to attached it a UV filter and a polarizer. I'd appreciate any recommendation of a good polarizer and UV filter (not too expensive). Thanks!

Hi guys I want to buy a circular polarizer filter than can be used for 2 lenses, the 24-105 f/4 and EF-S 17-55 2.8. What would be your recommendation? I've considered a B+W (prize about euro 190), but as I'm going to spend some days in Tokyo, and being B+W a German brand, I'd also like to know about Hoya (Japanese brand I believe). What would be a good purchase? I think that I could save ...

Lensmate has both types of polarizers for use with its S90 filter holder. Does the S90 metering system care which one you use? I know that for most DSLR's you need a circular polarizer but I never used one on my digital DSLR in the live view mode. David

Hello I am in Phuket Thailand on vacation and was taking pictures at "the big Buddha" when my cokin polarizer slipped out of it's holder and down a steep hill side! I tried to ask the locals where I could buy one but no one knows what I am talking about. they keep sendIng me to the Kodak shops which only have point and shoot supplies. Right now I will be happy with any 67mm polarizer. We are...

I recently got a 77mm polarizer--mainly for use on my 19-35mm zoom--but will also use it on my rangefinders via step rings. I'll be stacking two step rings, 39 to 49 and 49 to 77, and cutting about a quarter of them out to see the effect of the filter through. I don't think the filter will cover the RF window or the patch when I'm using this on my Bessas but I wonder: will the polarization ...

Does the lens of FZ38/35 rotate freely like FZ28 so instead of 2-piece polarizer, a one piece 46mm polarizer will work? And what particular one piece polarizer would you recommend? Just to tack on one more question, some people say polarizer is really not even needed for FZ38, true? Thanks

I am looking forr a polarizer filter for my FZ28. it is confusing to know what to get. I went to the Panasonic site: the lens adapter is 55mm, but the filter is 46mm. How come they don't match? Sorry to be so ignorant, but I have no idea what I have to buy. Teri

These are two photos, taken at the same almost time hand held with the sigma 30mm @ f5.6 and eos 50d. Maybe not the most scientifique test, but it is a real world situation. CPL used is the expensive one, HOYA pro1. I havent done any other processing to these images. Any at all. With a very slight WB tweak they could be even more close. Can you tell which one is with the CPL and which one is ...

Has anyone ever tried to mount a polizer filter directly onto the LX3 lens adapter and then a wide angle onto the PL filter? I want to use a polizer with a wide angle and there are very few WA conversion lenses with filter threads on the front.

I'm looking at the B+W circular MRC polarizers (77mm) for my f/2.8 28-80 and f/2.8 80-200 VR II and have question from folks who've used the B+W polarizers on them or similar lenses. Do I need to buy the slim mount filter to avoid vignetting or will the standard (F-Pro mount) do? There is a difference in price. Thanks, Mike

My father-in-law has an SX20IS, and he'd like to get CP filter for it. Is there a Lensmate set up that will work? If a solution is out there, would someone please post the details? I'm hoping to get him set up with something for a Christmas gift. I'm still lugging an SLR around. So I know nothing about the Lensmate. Thanks in advance for the help. JT

I am interested in photographing landscapes, especially since the fall season is coming. I've been reading threads on graduated ND filters as the perfect tool for landscapes; it allows the correct exposure for the sky and foreground. Now, in contrast, I read a thread on Fred Miranda ( http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/top...ilters#7001 484 ) (see Alex's post) where a poster stated that to get a...

Hi all, I know this topic has been discussed all over the planet, but no real conclusion have been given. I would like to purchase a filter system for this lens. LEE is my only option due to price/performance ration. In confused by the use of my existing polarizer. I'm already owning a B+W 77mm thin MRC polarizer filter which cost me a fortune. As I understand I will not ...

Took some shots today out on the beach to play with my new baby and to test my new accessories--Lensmate filter adapter and 37mm Hoya circ. polarizer. Very easy to use the setup and to put the filter on and take it off and on and off....And that is with some serious windchil! Quite honestly, this camera, now accessorized! with an RF grip, an extra battery, an 8gb card, and now the ultimate ultra...
I want to play with making panoramas and one advice I got was to use a fisheye lens to minimize the number of shots to capture. Has anyone used a fisheye on their LX3? I have an adapter tube for a polarizer but not sure it will be the right size. Quick Google search shows this at Amazon, from 47th Street. http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Professional-Fisheye- Panasonic-DMC-LX3/dp/B001N3H8BM
