My wife broke her old Powershot and needs a new camera. Both are around £170. Will be using it as a simple point-and-shoot/travel camera. I can't really decide which to get. The TZ6 has awesome zoom, while the Canon is tiny and might be a bit more convenient for carrying around. I have the TZ1 already. It's a decent camera, but it performs so poorly in low light and it is ...

Hi, I am looking for some recommendations for a high end point and shoot, for when I goto Europe next month. I was thinking of going DSLR and getting a Canon 500D but the thought of lugging that around with lenses is not good. I've looked at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 , and it seems to take pretty sweet pictures, and comes in at around $650. Cheers!

So I was planning to buy a point and shoot camera for under $300 and after doing strenuous research, I've settled on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 because of its great picture quality and its ability to record videos in HD. Does anyone have any better suggestions or any qualms with the Lumix?

Hey there camera folks. I used to have cheap sony cybershot that had manual controls. If I remember correctly, it had two F stop settings. It also allowed me to adjust the shutter speed and select and ISO setting. Unfortunately, that camera was damaged and rendered unusable. A family member member tryed to remedy the situation and gave me a nikon cool pix s7. I love the thought ...

The wife would like a simple point and shoot waterproof camera for Xmas. I have looked at some reviews but they seem to be mixed. Lots of flooding issues. Anyone own or have any recommendations for a Camera like the Canon D10? George

Is it possible to get decent pics with a point-and-shoot (that has decent manual settings) and without a tripod? Not trying to get into Nat'l Geographic, but to get some decent shots for my memory. If so, are there settings people recommend? Thanks.

Hi everyone. I currently have the canon SD700 and I think its time for an upgrade. I dont have much money for a DSLR, but something close to it would be ideal. Im looking for a camera that takes awesome photos, has manual settings, and will be able to last me for a couple of years. Ideally...I want a camera that is able to soft blurr the background and focus in on the people in the ...

any camera that does not offer the option of an interchangeable lense? or a mirror? I always thought a "point and shoot" camera referred to one that did not offer manual controls. However it currently seems that many (if not most) cameras considered point and shoot digital cameras - offer a variety of manual controls....and reviewers consider a point and shoot camera lacking in manual ...

As cheap, powerful automatic cameras and camera phones proliferate, the music industry--and its sports counterpart--have had to realize they can't control fans' ability to take pictures. More...

We have a DSLR and I know how to use it, but DH annoys me with it. He tries to be all fancy and have it on manual and he'll take a bunch of pictures, tell me how great they are, and when I upload them they're blurry, colors are off, etc. We HAD a point-and-shoot that was old (2004?) and it broke, so we're in the market for a new point-and-shoot. I'm anticipating Baby #2 arriving in the next ...

I just got back from the range doing Point & shoot drills for those who would be in your face allowing no truely aim time.I started from 3ft. to 15yds draw & shoot from the hip. I was using a 8in. steel plate. After about 2 hrs. of practice I was hitting about 8 out of every ten. I'll keep working. Someone sent me a video this morning stressing how important point & shoot drills are. He showed a...
