hi fellas, just about to tile my kitchen floor and i have read conflicting advice on the best way to go about it. I have a T+G floor and have read that 12mm wbp ply is what is best screwed down at 200mm centres, but this may course a height problem at doorways etc, so i have also read that 6mm hardi backer boards is the way to go and this lessens the increase in height but is more ...

I recently went to a local music store to try out a double bass for the first time. I am a bass guitar player looking to crossover into DB. I played (or rather tried to play) a used palintino ply they had in stock, and I was shocked by how quiet it was. Is this just an issue with this particular bass, or are all plys generally quiter than solid wood basses? Is it just because I lack proper...

I've also seen a number of hybrid and carved instruments in that same price range (Shen, Upton, used instruments, etc.). I have not yet had the chance to ...

You ever used an Emperor on the kick? I'm running a PS3 combo on a 24x18 maple kick and it's a bit thin sounding. Just doesn't have the low end rumble I'd like. I'd like to go 2-ply next time around for some beef and punch, and I'm wondering about going naked (well, using a normal head instead of a muffled kick head), as in Emperor rather ...
