Hey everyone. I am finally posting on here after using plusnet for over a year. Generally speaking, using plusnet as a broadband provider for anything other than general web browsing and email is pointless. When playing games.... constant lag spikes. Traffic Prioritisation doesn't work properly.... Fair enough if they want to slow down peer to peer, but on demand streaming...

As a result of an awful time with Primus (don't do it!), trying to find good phone/broadband package that includes 'closed group' calling benefits. I recently took the Plusnet Value broadband on and Plusnet seem (so far) pretty good with customer service although still early days and I know Plusnet is owned by BT. ...

Quick heads up if you are having access issues with Plusnet (residential or business) and have a fixed IP. Over the last few weeks they have had routing issues - possibly related to their new traffic management tools. I've seen this on a few of my customers lines but only those with a fixed IP (different subnet to dynamic). A quick trace route to Plusnets DNS servers shows the problem, ...

I moved my parents from MaaF to PlusNet (PN) to benefit from the 10Gb download on their basic package. I thought network would be the same, but on the 17th, the line started dropping about every minute or so. We called PN, who said there was an issue at their end. They then asked BT to take interleaving off the line (don't know why, we never had it off in all the years with MaaF and had a ...

I was just checking if www.plusnetsucks.co.uk was available and found that plusnet had registered it. It shows how much they think of themselves, but then again it might be normal for ISP's to register domains like that before we do.

I've just bought my first house (repossessed btl. disconnected phone connection, empty for a year) and am in the process of setting up my telephone and internet connection. Hopefully someone from PN will pick this up, since the MAAF ticket system would no doubt implode if i tried to explain this through that means. Over the last four weeks or so, i have noticed that my average ping has increased by over 25% from it's previous almost rock solid 32 ms to 42 ms +. Whilst this is not too much of an issue, it is a little disappointing. This has been measured ...

I can get it for £5.99 per month if I sign up for a year with free router. It says speed is 4 MB in my area. I use a laptop. I don't download very much, mainly use email, cag & facebook. I currently use 3 PAYG dongle which is actually brilliant in my area (except when Man U have a big game!) but it is more expensive than Plusnet as the time only lasts 4 weeks and you use it or lose it....

Plusnet managed to get BT to change the target SNR on a line from 15dB down to 6dB last night. Since the change the line shows no "disconnect" (ie it has been up for over 19 hours with no disconnections). The strange thing is that the speed has been changing during this time and the SNR staying permanently at 5/6dB. So, initial sync rate was 5344 and has then be changing to 4992, ...
