I need about 4-6 hours of general maintenance stuff done in West Houston including a new sink install and replacing the clips on a utility sink.. etc. I'd like to have someone just come and charge me by the hour since this little piddly stuff would be hard to estimate. So do we have any plumbers on Cluthcfans (in Houston) ?

Would you use a telesales company to sell boiler installation work direct to consumers? A typical boiler installation will give £600-£2000 profit. I was talking to my mother who uses nothing but telesales for her vending machine company which is totally b2b. Im on the fence however, how many people would agree to have a quote after a phone call from an annoying telesales dude? I dont ...

Had a new bath installed yesterday. Just had a nice hot bath......... Discovered the taps have been connected the wrong way round! Cold water comes out of the hot tap and vice versa. Maybe the plumber was dyslexic? - I'm getting confused with the water coming out back to front!...

Do we have any plumbers on the forum? I am getting jack of paying overs for local plumbers to unblock my sewer line and wondered if there is a way of unblocking that I can do myself. I have access to a Karcher water cleaner and am thinking if I get a length of garden hose and attach to the high pressure stream I could poke the hose down the access point until it unblocks. I had a plumber around ...

Hello everyone, can you help me please with this word: "Sub-trade". No dictionary has this word definition. The only thing that I managed to find out is following: "In the construction business trades such as plumbers and electritians, roofers are known as subtrades ". But I'm not sure whether it's suits in the text. I need to translate a Table of contents. Here is the part of ...

Boom gate lowered to protect jobs Quote: In a sign of the times, the permanent skilled migration program is being slashed by 18,000 over the next three months, with no foreign bricklayers, plumbers, carpenters or electricians allowed in for the foreseeable future. And the migrant worker program is likely to be cut back further in the May Budget. ...

Emergency advice from the plumbers on here needed (and gratefully received). I've just discovered that the water pipe feeding my washing machine appears to have frozen (machine will not fill). A tap tied into the same line also refuses to yield any water. I suspect that this is because I installed loft insulation below where the pipes run earlier in the year. This problem didn't happen ...

...to wait for a plumber's return service call? As I perused http://yelp.com this morning looking for plumbers for my non-emergency-but-still-need-a -fix plumbing problem, I rang a well-Yelped plumber who did not immediately pick up his phone. No biggie, but two hours after leaving a message I have still not received a return call. How long would *you* wait for a service person to ring ...

But what is really pissing me off is that all plumbers merchants shut half day Saturday so I cant even get the part I need to fix it... And then because the poxy thing is 25 years old there is no guarantee they can even get this poxy thing for me before they all shut down for the holiday. Right now I is freezing big time with no hot water and no prospect of having any heating or hot ...

The plumbers have roughed in the plumbing and the tub/shower is positioned in place on the subfloor. We are planning on having wood floors in the bathroom (which are not yet installed). I'm wondering if the tub should really be sitting on top of the finished wood flooring, or should we leave it as is, positioned on the sub floor and bring the finished wood flooring up to it and caulk where the ...
