Wood, felt or plastic play food? We are getting a play kitchen for ds1 (just turned 3) and ds2 (6 months) for Christmas and we need some food to go with it. I would love to get felt food but I'm not sure that's the best option for the baby- he'll be 'eating' things for a long time still. So I ...

I'm looking at play kitchens and can't decide which way to go.  I like wood myself but a friend just told me her 2.5 yr old is getting bored of the lack of sound effects and bells and whistles that you get with the plastic models.  What do you all think?  How easy is it to move a wooden one?  I am hoping to set up the kitchen near our kitchen but want to be able to move it when we have guests ...

My MIL wants to get DD a table and chair set for Christmas.  She was saying that she was thinking about a wood one. And asked for my opinion.   My sister got a plastic one for her DD from Ikea and absolutely loves it.  I was trying to think of the pros and cons of both.  The only thing I can think of is that the wood one will get dents.  What do you think?  Any thoughts

I'm working on a collar for my chest freezer. I was planning on staining the wood and adding a layer of insulating foam I have - was wondering if I should wrap the inside of the wood with plastic sheeting. Any thoughts?

I never tried felt (pet hair here), but retired all our wood food due to paint chipping after a couple years. The plastic looked more real, has lasted pretty well, and been easy to clean. Plus if a toddler tosses it no one gets hurt. We did have to freecycle all the junk food that came in the pack at the beginning so they were not playing with food we do not want them to eat

i went through the same dilemma about a year ago! i had 2 that I really liked; a wooden one and a plastic one. they were both smaller, which is what i wanted since we don't really have any room. I have come to the conclusion that there are about the same amount of pros and cons to each and you just need to go with what you think looks the best. we did end up going with a plastic one because ...

I have a swing arm lamp made out of hard plastic mounted on a table that the base has broken where it is mounted to the table. I was wondering if there is a way to glue the remainder of the base, this part is the actual part that hold the arm, onto a piece of wood and reattach the wood back onto the table. I need to know what kind of glue and the way to do it. It will carry the weight of the whole...
