Torment's the word. I just can't find anything that even compares to it now. I suspect that I may never play another computer game. Can anything stand up to this epic rpg? If someone asked me the same thing, I'd say try Fallout (just the first one) and Baldur's Gate II (not the first one). I might even suggest Little Big Adventure. I've been trying to find a copy of Planescape for quite some time now, and everytime I do find it, it's always incredibly expensive. So I started thinking, who actually owns the rights to this game and why haven't they done a re-release onto DVD like they did with the BG series?

Well, in Europe at least. Anyone who claims to be a gamer should own this masterpiece. One of the greatest RPGs made, and the best story of any game ever. And all you graphics whores out there, no need to not to play this game, for there are fan patches that tweak the resolution and other -blam!-. Interplay is re-releasing Planescape: Torment on November 20th 2009!! This is great news! Planescape is by far my favorite AD&D setting. I have some of the boxes and books well stored until today. And I think Planescape: Torment was really successful in putting all the ambience of the pen and paper material into a computer game. If anyone likes that kind of RPG, you can't miss this. ...

There was a DVD re-release of the game last Friday but it's Europe only. Doesn't seem to be available for purchase at high street retailers, they've kept it real quiet. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't visited Amazon on a regular basis.

Hmm, I recommend Kotor 2 if you're a Star Wars fan. Obsidian tried to do with Star Wars what this game did for the high fantasy genre. It turns many of the pre conceived notions you may have on the universe right on their head, and for that you may enjoy it. It's definitely an acquired taste as many fans of the first game tend to hate it.
