I was diagnosed with pityriasis rosea a few days ago. I know it can be at least 6 weeks before it goes away, but I'm wondering if I should begin doing something about the discoloration. I'm african american with a brown complexion and my skin scars easily. While the rash is still spreading, some of the bumps have dried up and left very dark marks on my body. Should I wait for ...

Hello, has anyone from this forum heard of this "skin" disease? It is not contagious and there's no known cause for it, it just appears (i guess) out of no where and last weeks or even months. I wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of it being associated with HSV II.

I'm trying to figure out if I need to seek medical attention regarding some patches I have developed. This all started at least two months ago with a single, small red patch just above my left breast. I assumed the patch was caused by my bra even though this patch was in the area where my bra strap isn't touching the skin. I switched bras for several weeks thinking it was just contact ...

~I think I've got one. I should probably see a doctor but there's nothing they can so it seems like a waste of time to me. It's been going on for a month but it's not at all as severe as the pictures I've seen online. Anyway, did you have one? How long did it linger and did you scar at all? Did you see a doctor about it? Any suggestions for making it go away faster?~

My 4 yr old DD has been diagnosed with pityriasis rosea. It has taken over her entire body within 48 hours. It starts from her face down to her feet. Every inch of her body is covered. I've never seen anything like this before. Doc says that it's caused by a virus. I asked could she be reacting to her flu shot. She got a flu shot on Monday and by Thursday she had this rash. This year's ...

Hello, So, this is the second time I've had pityriasis rosea, and thankfully, it's an extremely mild case. This diagnosis has been confirmed by a doctor. Now, I know this isn't contagious in the traditional sense, so normal contact or living in the same household should be safe. But is it okay for me to have sex while the rash is still visible? Since it's very light this time, it's not ...
