> The barrel is .9" and I was thinking of doing the conversion to the gas piston. I'm hoping that someone has done this conversion and could give me a place to start with a manufacture recommendation.

So...I would put this in an engine specific sub forum, but I suspect it's something that every one could use, so it's here instead. I'm wondering how people come up with their engine's redline. I see on other forums that people talk about mean piston speed, max piston speed, or sometimes max piston acceleration, and always with a pre-set number as a maximum; but really, what ...

Got my new piston and connecting rod today but it has new rings on it. WOuld like to use the old rings to keep everything in the engine equal. Has anyone ever removed rings and replaced rings before? It is calling for a special tool which doesn't look like an old school piston ring tool. I'm guessing it will be a fun little tool to try and track down too. No dealers around me even do engine ...

Remove all Advertisements I have a MDK piston which I'm trying to replace and need help trying to identify the compression ratio, part number MDK-H25-0035. It's from an '07 CRF250R. Considering their speed shop has closed down I doubt I will have any luck if I give them a call. Your help is greatly appreciated!

This has merely crossed my mind and I haven't researched it as such, so thought I would try informally here. When operating a normally aspirated six cylinder piston engine above Full Throttle Altitude (ie where firewall throttle lever position cannot achieve any higher manifold pressure), is there anything to be achieved once established in the cruise of retarding the throttle position to a ...

New to forum, I have a quick question. I pick-up the Big-Foot (G260) that I need to replace the piston (maybe head too). It looks like the piston was rubbing against something in the block and messed up the piston ring. The person I got it from said he did a crankshaft upgrade, but did not change out the head (I think he just added a gasket). How do I tell what stroke upgrade he did ...

Problem: Want a forged piston but nobody manufactures. TRW used to make a piston but it ups the compression, which I dont want. (trying to work all the details out of a turbo build, 1977 Ford 351m) Possible routes: Custom = $$$$$ Sister engine= different compression height Basically I need to figure out which piston will work but I am not sure how the math ...
