The plastic radiator drain plug on my Polaris fourwheeler broke off the other day. Dealer wants $12 for a new one, so I decided to go about finding what the threads in the radiator are. As best I can tell it's M12x1.5, but when I put a bolt in there it will thread in, but theres a lot of play around the head (like the hole is tapered). I've heard of british pipe thread, and I've also heard ...

Re: Metric pipe thread conversion-- M12=1/2"? Agreed. For $12, just get the right part. You're still getting screwed, but not too badly. Now if it was $112.....then I think we could come up with something more cost effective. __________________ Fortunately, we're not getting ...

We purchased (4) totes of quench oil to ship with one of our furnaces (each tote 270 gallons). The totes are plastic, they have a large (4" or so) cap on the top. At the bottom of the tote is a plastic ball valve and a plastic pipe cap. Unscrew the cap and I see what looks close to a 2" NPT thread. But a 2" NPT fitting loosely fits it. The plastic thread would no way hold a 2" NPT coupling and ...

I got back from up north and the guys at the shop found out what we needed. The threads are just to hold the cap. Just like a few said above it's a (2" Cam Lock) like the firemen use on their hoses. They ordered it from Graingers, the clamp with a hose barb on the other. Cost is something like $6, we'll have it tomorrow. Learn something new every day. Thanks for the help.

I want to add NPT pipe thread definitions to my standards in V5R18. I have tried to add UNC and UNF.txt's in my standards with no luck.

Guys, I need some information... As I'm making progress on the LHD conversion of my 74 2-door Range Rover classic, I've not been able to find out what thread is used on the brake pipe connectors. I do know it's Imperial-thread, but what size?? And, Where can I order them on-line? Your help is much appreciated, as on the european main land, we are more in to DIN metric sizes Thanks!

All three of those ports have a pipe thread in them. IIRC, it is a 3/8 NPT. Use AN flare-pipe thread adapter fittings. My IO-360-A1A manual shows either A or C as OK for the "to cooler" port. The B port is always for oil return from cooler. Either way, the oil goes through the spin-on oil filter housing first, and the vernatherm is installed in that housing. When the Vernatherm closes,...

Rimmer Brothers or someone similar might be able to help. If not a dedicated brake specialist rebuilder should be able to figure it out.
