Hey everyone. got a 1998 ranger 3.0L 4x4 stick that is apparently pinging, it sounds exactly like a spray paint can being shaken up really fast. it does it pretty much only in gears 3,4,5 under loads, up hills, etc... as soon as i back off the throttle it goes away. i don't know how long its been doing it. bought the truck from my dad a year ago. has 109,000 miles on it. first noticed the ...

I'm currently doing my A+ course and we have reached the OSI model (sigh). Now i always thought that pinging 127.0.0.1 (for example) tested the primary NIC of the machine. However the book explains it differently stating that its used to test TCP/IP functionality on a host. What exactly does it mean by this? I understand that TCP/IP is merely a protocol within the OSI model from the application ...

Hello Warriors, Pinging Blogs & Web Pages: If a post in a blog or a new page in a static website is not pinged, does this mean search engines will not know about the new post/article or does it just mean it will take longer for spiders to crawl the content manually? The reason for asking the question, are static html pages going to fair worse than blog posts ...

Any ideas of what could be causing my car problems? My 2.0L, 4 cylinder, manual transmission Ford Probe SE has started running a little rough. When I first start the car in the mornings and the outside air is cool, the RPMs run high for 3-5 minutes until the car is warmed up. (Those minutes seem to be increasing.) I do not have this problem in the afternoon when the outside air is warm and/...

I've never noticed it before but i've also have never listened for it. I usually put chevron gas in my car but i was in a hurry sunday and i fueled with a circle K with crappy additives. My car pings under load in some of the gears. Is it because of the crappy gas or an underlining problem that im not aware of? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

The ecu stored code # po332, I cleared the code and it came back on after two weeks. I do not hear any pinging or knocking noises in the engine. I also use premium fuel with 92 octane rating.

Hey Guys, Question about blocking ICMP\PING within a small network using a PIX\ASA. The PIX\ASA are used for Internet access. The ultimate goal is to block PC's within a small network from pinging eachother. The IP scheme is 192.168.10.0/24. What should the ACL look like? Any suggestion would be Great! Thanks!

I have a weird problem that I cannot figure out. I've been having **UDP FLOODS** in my belkin router security log that have been pinging all three of my computers (2 laptops, 1 desktop). They seemed to be taking up a bit of my bandwidth and slowing down my connection speed (I have 20mbps through cox communications). I've tried everything to block this pings, I blocked the UDP ...

Is there a way to monitor the linux agent, if say for instance if the agent does not start up? I know that through the web managment I can see if I am pinging the server and the rest of the triggers are blank, but I'm looking to see if I can monitor so that I can get an email if the agent is not running. I'm using an item right now (Simple check, icmpping) to monitor for connectivity. ...
