Does anyone know whether the actual pigment concentration in the finished product is higher in Golden Fluid acrylics or in Golden Heavy Body Acrylics? Their website says of the Fluid Acrylics: "the pigment load is comparable to GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylics", which I would usually take to mean that the pigment concentrations are similar. However, the fluids are about twice as expensive, so...

Hello all. It must be over a year ago I posted these pics of a bow I made, I painted the sinew with a mixture of watered down gelatin and clays or gelatin and ground up artists pastels. I was wondering if you new what I could put on top of it to make it waterproof. My worry is that a varnish or oil may bleed or smudge the colors. Maybe a varnish in a spray can? Thanks in ...

Ever since MJ was interviewed by Oprah and said he had a skin disease that destroyed the pigment of his skin, my memory was triggered about an article I had seen in Ebony magazine when I was in the 4th grade. In that article another black man, Arthur Wright, had lost his pigment due to vitiligo and turned white. Last night I was hunting for that article in Google books and I found it - http://...

Here I'm playing around with clear gels between layers of pigment. The second photo gives a better idea of the effect. The image size is about 5 " x 5" with black gesso background.

Weird NJ has received communications in the past from a U.S. based group that wants the magazine to cease publishing folklore that feature people with alibinism in them, as if our readers cannot differentiate between real people who live regular lives who also happen to lack pigment, and stories that are obviously exaggerations. And at least in the US, albinos don't have to worry about being cut ...

I had my Epson TX100 Printer converted to CISS three months ago that came in with an anti-UV Dye Inks. Lately, I've read about pigment inks that is far more superior to what I'm using today. Question: Can I possibly switch to pigment ink without the risk of damaging my printer head? If I could switch to it, do I have to drain out my remaining dye ink or could I just mix it up with my new ...

Get the paint type that fits the way you paint. That could mean you need to get both the heavy body AND the fluid, as mentioned. btw, DickBlick lists Golden HeavyBody and Fluid in the 4 oz size for each at pretty much the same price from what I see. But not all of the pigments are available in both product lines (no true Cadmiums in the Fluids, for instance).
