Hi I have windows 7 64 bit fresh install as of yesterday (fully updated) and experiencing a performance issue. When I look under task manager 95% of my physical memory (3.5 gb out of 4gb) is being used but there are no tasks that are using the memory. I have selected show task for all users and again nothing is using the 3.5 gb of memory. It is a pretty clean install (just have virus checker and...

VB6 Ent SP6 XP Pro SP3 GlobalMemoryStatus and GlobalMemoryStatusEx() both return the same value in dwTotalPhys , which is different from the value given by Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information (which I have reason to believe is right, while the APIs are wrong.) I haven't checked the other values returned by the APIs; they might be right or wrong. ...

i have been using NL for quite a while, and other than some minor headaches (the norm for betas), haven't had much to complain about. i upgraded from beta 9 to 11 and now i can't open my download queue. for some reason, beta 11 spikes to use up all of my available RAM and then becomes unresponsive. in beta 9, the memory usage would spike to about 1.6 GB but it would open and then after ...

Hello Guruz, Interesting, I installed one zone with 1Gb dedicated memory, But when I type top command I am getting o/p as below. Memory: 1024M phys mem, 1972M free mem How come free memory will be more than physical memory? If that so, how can we get exact memory utilization on non-global zones. Thanks in advance. Thanks & Regards Prakash K Off: +91 2022970906

Depending on what your server is doing, then yes it is normal. You will notice that only 55mb of 2 gig of swap drive is being used so there is plenty of room for memory movement. You will find linux likes to use as much of the physical memory first before moving onto the virtual/swap memory, unlike windows which mix's them up more depending on what is active
