Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had a phone interview? I've applied for a job as a customer service adviser with Admiral Insurance, and have to have a phone interview before going on to a face-to-face interview. Are they as nerve-wracking as they sound? I'm nervous haha xx

Ok, I made it to the 3rd interview, and apparently it's a PHONE interview (??), my first interview was with the HR manager (in person), the second with the department manager (in person) and the third is going to be with the HR assistant OVER THE PHONE?!? I just finished a phone interview... And was told to expect a call after the holiday to schedule a in house interview! I have been trying to get into this company for the last 3 years. I am nervous and extremely excited. All of the guys below can't really represent how I feel right now......

Hi guys, has anyone had a phone interview from Google? I've doing a bit of research and it seems that of late, they've begun take a McKinsey-esque approach to interview questions, though possibly just in the states. For instance: How many Petrol Stations are there in the US? Anybody have the phone interview? Is it like that?

I got a call on my cell last Thursday to schedule a phone interview for a job I applied for a month or so ago. Anyone here ever have a phone interview? I have had a few - they are kind of a weed out before a face to face interview. Anyway, it was supposed to be at 10am today. They never called my cell or home phone. I find it kind of rude. Some place called me last Thursday about a resume I sent in and scheduled a phone interview for today at 10am. They never gave me any number to call and gave me the impression they would be calling me. 10:20 and I don't think they are going to call. Kind of rude. I wasn't sure about working there anyway but now I am sure. To heck with them.

Applied for a Job and at th application stage it said that you will be notified about shortlisting in 4-6 weeks, 4 days after i applied i got a call saying i had been shortlisted for the telephone interview, wanted a sweep for those who think this is a good sign, bad sign or neither here nor there?

The one I'm at now was a phone interview, interview, second interview, job offer; so it must be good. One other was an unpaid internship at a publisher (which I actually got, but was notified 3 weeks after the interview ...

I have mentioned this before on another thread, but my DH lost his job in early May. Since then, he has had two phone interviews, they both went well, and he then had the face-to-face interviews. My DH makes a very impressive appearance and conducts himself professionally during interviews, but he was not chosen for either of the jobs! Just getting to the face-to-face interview sometimes ...

I phone screen candidates before I bring them in (since the spend 90% of thier time on the phone, if they don't have a good phone presence, there's no point in interviewing them). I always call the candidate. I would never dream of having them call me. It's bad form, IMO.
