A couple years ago I was trying to figure out how business loans work. I came across a website where borrowers would tell their story about why they needed the money (their business plan) and philanthropists would be able to look at all the borrowers and decide who they thought would be a good bet to loan money to. All the lenders were private individuals, not banks. Does this sound familiar...
