Hi Every year I plant petunias in early November. The plants do really well except I lose about 10% due to bugs eating on the roots of the plants. I'm not sure if the bugs are grubs or what. Do you have any suggestions. Is it alright to place some bug killing granules below, next to, or around the plan? I do have moles, but I have placed mole killing granules into the soil and will buy sound ...

You have to love these simple plants. This must have been a perfect growing season for them. They never got too leggy, no dead stems to remove, just constant blooms. I particularly like these called Ky. Mix with variegated blooms. From Fall 2009
