Using Pyrodex Pellets and on a stainless steel barrel I have heard people say not to use petrolium based oils. Is this true and if so any sugestions on a good non petrolium based product. Just getting into muzzle loading have a lot to learn. This sight is sure helping thanks for all the insight

but what's in vaseline? since it's petrolium jelly I don't think I can use it (is that pig fat or anything in it?) but I'm not sure sorry i'm stupid I wikipedia'd it and still am unsure... i guess the best thing to do would not be to use it, unless someone knows but my mom said it removes make up easily

Re: FML.. my oil pump went out make sure you pre prime the pump with oil before you start it or pack the gears with some petrolium grease so you have oil pressure when it starts, if you don't prime the pump it will run way too long without oil pressure and you don't want that
