Leo, I recently saw some frozen blueberries at the store that said "grown naturally with no pesticides" on the package and the other one said "organic". Could you tell me the difference between the two?? Thank you! Answer Dear Cyndi, Grown naturally with no pesticides means the blueberries are grown in nature. They are harvested as 'wild' berries. Nature itself doesn't need pesticides. ...

The intrauterine system (IUS) is a long acting reversible hormonal contraceptive device that is placed in the uterus. An IUS has a hormone cylinder that releases a progestin (progestogen) called levonorgestrel. The only brand currently available is the T-frame LNG-20 IUS, marketed as Mirena Coil by * Schering Health and * Berlex Laboratories (*Bayer). The term IUS is used in the United Kingdom ...

This is a disgusting first sentence, implying that mothers, most of whom would do anything to protect their sons, are at fault for their exposure to DDT. It's not worth the "cleverness" or shock-value to imply the fault is mothers' rather than the FDA's, EPA's, or the pesticide companies, and it follows the easy cliche of blaming mothers for all the problems their children face. Shame on you ...

When organic is not available, clean your vegetables with a fruit and vegetable wash and vegetable/fingernail brush to remove chemicals, waxes and pesticides. 3. Always peel citrus fruits, but leave on the white, pithy part of the peel as in contains healthy ...

These are good reasons to eat only organic beef and chicken and stay away from burger and chicken joints. Another reason is all the chemicals, hormones, pesticides, etc. most food animals are fed or treated with. I read all this before and thought about it the last time I was tempted to stop at a McDonald's. Thankfully, I drove away and...

if so, is there any difference between regularly grown with pesticides etc, and organically grown? I've been trying to decide if i should buy organic stuff only. Is it just be a marketing tool used to attract the Eco-friendly/"green" people?

Concentrations of several major pesticides mostly declined or stayed the same in “Corn Belt” rivers and streams from 1996 to 2006, according to a new U.S. Geological Survey study. The declines in pesticide concentrations closely followed declines in their annual applications, indicating that reducing pesticide use is an effective and reliable strategy for reducing pesticide ...

Probably way more than the statistics will show. Back when Willy Nelson was promoting Farm-Aid to help raise money for farmers who were committing suicide because they risked losing their farms, I learned something interesting that was not revealed by the mass media. The farmers in Missouri where I lived were killing themselves because they had cancer and no health insurance, they wanted their ...
