Hey guys, I've known about periodization for a few yrs, but never did, I also started keeping a log. I'm trying to rededicate myself and take my workouts more seriously and take it to the next level. I've got a periodization time frame set up, and I was wondering if anybody had any tips. The first session is what I'm currently doing, and its the order from current to latest: Fat loss, ...

In sport, this planning is usually based upon achieving maximum physical abilities (strength, speed, power, etc..) for a given competition or period of competitions. In strength training, it might be organized around a specific goal for the muscles. Most people who strength train actually plan or ...

Hey all, Just a couple quick questions - Note - not a competitive lifter just a fan / rugger. Technique For the push jerk, should the athlete try to stick the lift after getting underneath the bar or should they plan on sinking down and dropping low. I've seen it done both ways and was curious and was hoping someone could shed some light on that. Also, when periodizing your programs is...

Do you use it to prepare for fights or competitions? Do you go through periods where you focus on grappling and other periods where you focus more striking? Or periods where you focus more on cardio, and others on strength? How so? I've been finding that I can't maxmize my progress with strength at the same time as cardio. I feel that I have to maintain one while I spend more time on the ...

Well, I had to take a good rest first. I wonder if you could give any advice on what kinds of strength-, conditioning- and maybe on-court training to do to ...

From an article Grizzle posted: The problem with many beginner and intermediate trainees is they tend to use training methods, techniques, and protocols that are entirely too advanced for their existing level of strength and fitness. While cluster training, wave loading, undulating and conjugate periodization schemes, Sheiko, circa max cycles, variable resistance, accommodating resistance, ...
