Decided to spend the afternoon tearing down the stove and giving it a good deep cleaning. Bought the stove used so I had no idea of how much previous burning had been done. I used the advice that was given on this forum and cleaned the vent, fan, fire box, heat exchanger tubes, ash traps, ran a bottle brush up the traps, and then vacuumed up the gross amounts of ash that I pulled down. Then ...

Sorry for no pics of the setup just yet. Too many installers coming in and out of the house yesterday. Will post new pics IF the stove stays. :D Ok so, stove details are in my sig. Napoleon NPS40 (Freestanding). Unit is supposed to heat about 2200SQFT. First problem, the adapter going from the 6” opening(wood stove prior) to the stove came in all mashed up and they couldn’t use it. ...

The problem I’m having is through the night when the temperature drops and the red light comes on calling for heat the auger won’t feed pellets into the pot . In the morning the red light is still on and it’s calling for heat so I have to hit the...

Just as the title says…. I have seen the term overfire and snapdisks in several threads and it got me wondering. Assuming the control board and ESP are functioning correctly, can you overfire a current generation Harman pellet stove? I own an XXV, but I imagine all current generation stoves would be similar. Thanks

We use them periodicaly for guest etc. i live in Maine where nights get very cold. I've tried the stove temp control and not really happy but never used the room temp. I was told not to use this as it is not effective. Any thoughts and since this unit is in ...

MagnuM Countryside Multi-fuel pellet stove Link: http://www.americanenergysystems.com/magnum-countr yside-3500p.cfm I purchased this stove 6-7 years ago for $2500 and it has definitely paid for itself. I have replaced the stirrer motor, stirrer, and fire pot. Dependable and very efficient. It would be a great way to heat a garage or put in the basement, etc.... I am getting rid of it ...

I just had to replace the bushings on my Whitfield Advantage 2 that I have used for about 13 years every winter. When I purchased the lower bearing on the auger I found that You cannot order only the bearing but you must buy the NEW REPLACEMENT “KIT” that includes the Iron plate that could never wear out in the first place and the bushing that come with it is NOT BRASS but PLASTIC !! The Kit...
This was my third day of cleaning up after and repairing/replacing frozen FHW pipes in my basement. I’m deeply regretting the pellet stove. I took this week off to enjoy the holiday. Too bad all I’ve enjoyed so far is the trips to the hardware store to get away from the disaster in my basement.

Came across this article from a local TV station.- http://www.wfsb.com/news/22017364/detail.html Hope that copies. Looks like embers from the stove came out the vent and leaves underneath caught on fire, then spread to the deck. One more day and those leaves would have been covered by snow here in CT. I think it’s something people don’t think too much about, but this proves it can happen. ...

rickwa - 27 December 2009 07:41 AM To get 43K BTU per hr on the p38 Harman it feeds 5.5 lbs per hr. 1 bag in 7.25 hrs. that it a rip roaring hot fire. It sound like your stove is not feeding enough fuel. to get 40,000btu it would have to feed about 5 lbs per hr. That should turn your room into a furnace!! That would be at 100% efficiency. Most stoves are more like 74 to 80%. If you plan ...

I normally empty my fire pot every chance I get. Tonight I decided to let it build up. I raised the Thermostat to activate the insert. The red light came on but no pellets dropped. I waited and nothing. While the exhaust fan was running, I opened the door and stirred the ashes inside the pot. There were clinkers inside. Once I closed the door, the pellets dropped and shortly after the fire ...
