Hi- I'm moving from Norwalk to Ridgefield and looking for a new pediatrician for my 20 month old. We're sad to leave our current Doc, but it's too far to drive for a little one. We're looking for someone with a holistic approach or an open mind. Any references would be great!! Jackee

DD's pediatrician said to start her on solids, and then we can probably get her off the r/o prevacid. She's only 4 months old, so I'm torn. By solids, he said the rice and oat cereals. My friend, who has a 7 month old, said basically we could try and just see how DD does. On one hand, I want to wait until she's older but on the other hand, I'd love to get her off the meds. He said to aim ...

I am planning on delivering at a birth center and have been given the option of having a pediatrician there. My midwife believes that it is not necessary to have one present. I was just wondering, for those of you who delivered at a birth center or at home- how long after your LO was born did you venture out to see the Dr?

My husband and I just had boy/girl twins (11/12). We currently have a pediatrician who is very wedded to the vaccination schedule put out by the CDC. We are searching for a "flexible friendly" doctor, who is less of an interventionist. Any suggestions are welcome. We ideally need someone in the Kirkwood/Des Peres area, including the Ballas Hospital area. Thanks AFmom

A 4-year-old girl is brought to the pediatrician with a 4-month history of limping, swelling of the left knee, and pain in the right wrist. Her parents note that she has difficulty extending her knee fully. There is no history of trauma to the knee. She frequently refuses to walk in the morning because of stiffness and pain, but seems fine later in the day. Physical examination is normal, except...

An 8-year-old boy is taken to a pediatrician because of behavioral changes, mild intellectual deterioration, and "laziness." Over the next several months the boy develops increasing clumsiness and periodic, involuntary, jerky movements every 3 to 6 seconds. Visual deterioration is apparent upon visual field testing, and optic atrophy is evident on funduscopic examination. Cerebrospinal fluid ...

A 14-year-old girl is seen in the pediatric clinic with a sinus infection. The pediatrician notes this is her fourth such infection this year, and that she had bacterial pneumonia 9 months ago. The patient had been healthy until these infections first appeared. Physical examination is consistent with bacterial sinusitis; otherwise, it is normal. A complete blood count with differential and ...
