all the walking in the world will not come out with a cure when people are poisoned from coal pollution or particulate pollution Walking for a cure is hype to ignore the real cause for thousands of deaths from cancer and strokes and heart disase and respiratory disease. Simpe enough if you live close to traffic or coal production your going to lose your health faster. there is no going back...

Had the fault symbol for the DPF rear its head on the dash this evening together with a little red exclamation mark in a triangle next to the mileage which I think means service, general service not due until May. Booked in at the dealer tomorrow, just wandered if anyone else has had this and if an easy fix. Hazzard a guess the filter has become clogged up with soot Hope it will be covered ...

Just thought I would post this in the pug forum since it has the most turbo diesels. The nulon 5w30 synthetic oil suitable for particulate filters was about $60 for 5l at supercheap on the weekend, this is the cheapest I have seen this grade of oil at ordinary retailers.

I am heading off to China to teach English, and I have been told to boil my water. ( The filter I bought will get rid of particulate matter but not virus and bacteria.) Will microwaving the water acheive that effect, or am I swetting over a hot stove ?

Quote: The Duramax 6.6L's diesel particulate regeneration system features a downstream injector that supplies fuel for the regeneration process. This greatly reduces potential oil dilution, important with using biodiesel. Downstream injection saves fuel and works better with B20 than in-cylinder post injection. http://green.autoblog.com/2010/02/08...l-turbo-die se/...

I have a 2006 FIAT Punto 1.3 diesel that I'd be keen to use bio-diesel in, provided I wasn't going to void the warranty. (I think the base model does not have a particulate filter, which seems relevant to the issue.) The owner's manual and warranty booklet note that bio-diesel's okay provided it's certified to European standard EN590. A B100 retailer in Kempsey tells me that he believes ...
