Instead of hijacking the Bio thread, have any 09 or 10 V6 TDI owners noticed any particulate farting going on as you're driving or is this pretty much a V10 phenomenon?

I'll admit that I've spent more energy lately learning about oils than filtration. In my mind the oil was the limiting factor so I spent the most time trying to find the right oil and figure out how long I could run it. Some one on a Subaru forum asked when they should change their factory fill. As always most people recommended changing it out ASAP. I chimed in saying the factory fill oil ...

Got a question for anybody who might be able to answer it. What is going on with California and these new emissions standards laws that are requiring Class 8 trucks to install particulate filters on there exhaust to reduce the black smoke, ? and going further I heard something else about not only having to install these dam filters, but also having to possibly put a new cleaner burning engine in ...

I am currently running an XP3 on Phoenix's 65G "hospital" tank. I'm not happy with the performance. There's a lot of fine particulate, particularly at the surface (probably due in part to the freeze drilled krill she got last night). Also, it's doing nothing to collect the poop. Maybe my expectations are too high, but do any of you have suggestions as to what steps I should take to improve ...

After reading several threads about filtration, Ive started to look into more particulate and water removal filtration for my fuel system. Ive looked at several kits that are out there and noticed there are differences between how the kit components are used vs. vendor design specifications. For example the hoses that are chemically compatible with diesel and specify Parker series 82, ...

I'm adding additional particulate and water filtration capability to my fuel system and like the various spin-on cartridge systems people have posted or available commercially. Have any of you using these spin-on filters had issues of wax or gel fouling/plugging when the weather got colder, as most don't seem to have or add heaters? I have not had an issue to date with the stock 300W...

Although my car is a UK spec car, it seems to have a particulate filter fitted to the exhaust system. I checked under the car and noticed I have one fitted at the front of the exhaust like in the picture below. I thought UK cars didn't have them fitted as standard? What benefit's do I gain from this?
