It looks like that all the part are there from the interior handle, to the junction box where it splits to both sides of the rear axle. but thats it. The rear axle is a dana 60, looking at it I see a "C" bracket followed by what...

Hi, can anyone help? The parking brake is operating fine but when the handle is pulled it doesn't release all the way, if you put a toe underneath and "assist" it works though. Is there a tensioner or something similar that needs adjustment? Thanks, Steve

I have a 2002 Acura TL with 55K miles on it. Recently I noticed that the BRAKE light next to the speedometer will stay on even after I have disengaged the parking brake. After driving around for a while (about 5 mins), the BRAKE light will then go out on its own . This BRAKE light problem doesn't always happen, but I just noticed it again today when I took the car out.

I just purchased a 2005 745LI with 43k miles. The dynamic stability control has come on numerous times. Most of the time if I turn off the car and restart the car it will go back to normal. Today when the dynamic stability control came on the the computer would turn off and back on: the navigation screen would breifly turn off and then back on, then the display would say that Dynamic ...

Have JD 170, man. trans., w/14 hp Kawi. Today, I had to replace the vent hose on top of gas tank. Old hose was cracked and leaking fuel. I removed the fenders/seat assembly to access the top of the tank. I noticed in the process that a spring (about 3-1/2") had fallen off (?) the parking brake linkage. Does anyone know where I should re-connect this spring? It seems that there should be ...

Just realised this in the 1 manual: "To prevent corrosion and one-sided braking action, occasionally apply the parking brake lightly when the vehicle is slowing coming to a stop if traffic conditions are suitable. The brake lamps do not light up when the parking brake is applied." Does anyone do this and how often? And from what speed? Cheers.

Parking Brake Adjustment I just finished brake pad and rotorreplacement at all 4 corners on my Jetta and noticed that a parking brake adjustment is needed because the lever is up against the stop on the one side. What is the downside to not having the slight gap at the lever other than not being in spec? I believe that the downside is that I may have some slack on the ...

I have a double din dvd player, which as required by law, has a switch that is supposed to be wired to the parking brake to keep you from watching a dvd while the vehicle is in motion. Nobody i know does this, they simply wire it to a grounded switch and hide it somewhere. Today, i went to Auto Zone and bought myself a switch to replace my old one. It cut a hole in the side panel of the Xterra, ...

Yeah. We're definitely gonna get the details as to what they do to fix it tomorrow. Considering the parking brake worked after the first time they "fixed" it, I'm guessing it's not the brake shoes worn out. Oh well. I'll be back this weekend to update this thread for future reference.

It's definitely strange. The good news is there may be one less tacoma mucking up our roadways. EDIT: Maybe there was somebody he really didn't like at the bottom of the hill.

By "locking" I mean both tires skidding on the pavement and making screeching noises :-) Lantank: Right on the money. I took that center pivot point apart, cleaned it from mud and crud. Lubricated with Mobile-1 synthetic and Bostick anti-seize on the two bolts thread and viola, both wheels are not locking. This concludes my Parking brake project. It has never worked as good as it works...
