hey, i just got my new HV30 a few weeks ago and I just made my first edit with it and i find that the camera is being VERY sensitive to movement like panning. I had it in the sport setting for this film. As you can see from my video that when panning it looks like the scenes are coming apart? I just want the shots too look smoother. help http://www.vimeo.com/2165601

My file is going great but I would like it to only pan right or left when the mouse reaches close to the edge and stop while I am working within the middle area. Here is my panning code and the file can be viewed at www.caramelcob.com/newsite . Any ideas? code: stop(); w = Stage.width; h = Stage.height; xspeed = 40; yspeed = 30; this.onMouseMove = function() { aa_x = w/2-(_...

I know Alabama has a history of gold production. I want to move to an area that has recreational gold panning / prospecting available. It would have to be on public land because I don't own land, nor know anyone who does. I am seriously looking at moving to a Western state. Still, I know Alabama's gold history and it is a closer / cheaper move. I am curious about relocating in the Heflin area. ...

This is my first go at panning (I've posted another thread since I got it wrong and linked a set last time - whoops!!) I think I understand the technique, pre-focus (half press) on an area, wait for a subject to come into your frame, depress the shutter and track the subject - all done in shutter priority with a speed of circa 1/60. If this is wrong can someone please ...

I shot this image in a still position cause of time constraints and although I like it, I'd like to add a realistic motion blur/panning effect. What techniques would you guys use for this kind of image ? Any suggestions ? Thanks in advance.

I have a Sony HDR-HC3E camcorder that records in 1080i. When I play my movies directly from the camera to my TV via HDMI the images are sparklingly clear. Smooth pans are steady and look great. When I import the movies into iMovie 9, at the space saving 'Large' size, edit them, then export and watch on my Apple TV the quality is significantly degraded. Especially bad are pans ...

I was very interested to read the Q&A on Video Wobble, which seems to suggest that, because of the way the sensor reading works on DSLRs, that panning the camera whilst using video mode is likely to introduce this phenomenon, and that proper video cameras, using a rolling shutter, are better suited to moving subjects. This begs the question - if you are going to use the video mode on your ...

A shot of a hunting Barn Owl from a few weeks ago. It was very late in the evening when it came out so had to shoot in ISO800. I'm not known for my panning techniques either! It has been snowing on and off the last couple of weeks so the owls are now hunting during day time as well as food is becoming scarcer. I hope to go out tomorrow to see if I can catch them in action again. Some ...
