However, if I place my freshly pressed uniform shirt and pants in the panniers, they settle on the ride in and don't look their best when I dress out. I'v

I'm considering blasting my stock GS Adv. panniers with walnut shells. I went the high polish route and its hard to keep them looking neat. Scratches show up quick and they get crappy looking fast. I've experimented with some scrap aluminum and it gives it a "frosted" look thats kind of nice. Also, I have some "GS" decals I might put on somewhere before blasting and take them off after to leave ...

Looking for a set of M-S Panniers, formerly known as Moto -Sport Panniers, the Bavaria Model in particular. I do not care if they are the black or silver, not fussy. I am making the mounts too so just the bags would be good. Whatchagot...? If I don't find something soon I'll go with the Afrika Touring cans but I thought I would give this a try... Thanks, Rob...

I am interested in buying some panniers for my new R12GS. I like the simplicity and convenience of the Varios, but I will consider other options. What do you have to offer? Looking to acquire bags ASAP!

H2W Seat & Tank Panniers Use as universal tank panniers or... as seat panniers that use the empty space behind the rider's legs when riding solo. They fit nearly every model and brand of motorcycle. They use stiffeners so they keep their shape even when loaded. Measurements are 9"h x 7"w x 7"d. These are new. Never been used. Paid $175 US + shipping -- selling for...

Has anyone tried to fit/use soft luggage. Not the tank bag but panniers. 1. I am not a big fan of the high mounted look of the hard cases. 2. I am not a fan of the high cost of the hard cases. thanks bode

Looking for a bolt on that will satisfy two needs. First, protecting the rear sides of the bike (seat cowling, exhaust, etc) in a crash with no panniers. Secondly, same mod would need to proide an exhaust standoff for my Giant Loop Great Basin bag (I just bought on Black Friday for 20% off). I'm may have to fabricate something because I've searched and can't seem to find what I need. Perhaps ...

Hi The Wife and I retire shortly and are exploring the idea of buying a second hand 800/1200 GS with panniers and touring from Munchen to Rome. Is there someone in Germany that can perhaps point us in a direction of (1) where to look for a bike (2) where to stay (the cheapest rates of course!) (3) possible pitfalls. We are bikers - i.e. nor fussy, and would rather like to get to know the...

Hello peops. Has anyone got any experience of dragging a single-wheel trailer? I want to increase the bike's luggage-carrying capacity but would prefer not to use a big tank bag and panniers .

I was just down the bank and a black 1400 went through Murtoa with panniers and a bag on the luggage rack heading out towards St Arnaud. Looked like a Staintune can, stock windshield and bloke riding carefully. I wonder who that was?

I'm thinking of carrying some luggage in tank (side) bags a bit like this arrangement for Morocco/ two up trips sort of thing... Bags are heavy duty nylon/canvas push bike panniers the idea is to have some weight resting on the crashbars to reduce the weight the tank has to carry - basically there is no other way to support them other than straps over the tank. (straps will be much ...

Hey everyone. I'm turning my Specialized Hardrock into a utility bike. Gonna be the main commuter, shopper, general dogsbody bike. Road tyres, muddies and a Tortec rack (rated at 45KGs) have been fitted and now I need panniers. Any suggestions? Ideally I'd like to be able to carry a dog, a laptop and a big shop...not all together obviously. Two bags at the side of the wheel would be nice with a ...

Good suggestion, but most of my luggage miles will be with the Mrs. I think I'm going to get some throwovers and then make a frame that I can strap a small bag to immediately behind the passenger, which doubles up as a guard to keep the panniers from getting too close to the exhaust.
