Greetings. A buddy of mine and I will be camping and kayaking near the FL panhandle. Does anyone have any tips on gear and/or locations to drop lines? I don't think we're going to hit the gulf, probably some rivers that empty into it. Thanks again! Bryan

I live in South Florida and am going to take a small vacation over Winter break to North Florida/the Panhandle. However, I need advice on a destination. I would like to visit an area that is rather country(no big cities), is in a hilly part of Florida(no flat areas), and maybe has some antique malls(for my mom), outlet stores, and a cute Bed & Breakfast. Can you all recommend a place that has...

Texas Panhandle Weather I know some of you have posts about the temperature but in the Texas Panhandle it is often about wind. We are under a severe wind advisory for Tuesday. Southwest to West winds 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts of 60 to 65 miles per hour. It is the gusts, as many of you know, that can really wreak havoc. So, I expect tomorrow night's local news will ...

A package arrived from the Texas panhandle, inside was a chunk of well pump bushing (7-1/4" OD x 4-7/8" ID x 7-1/2" L) and a section of Teflon tube (2" OD x 1" ID x 12" L), these will go into the material stockpile, no immediate requirement for them, but I'm sure a future use will be found. Their receipt was and is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jerry Jack

An interesting special on the time when my grandparents moved to the Texas panhandle, had kids, then a self perpetuating high system and drought set it and my parents survived eating blackeyed peas: cowpeas. Many migrated to California; many did not survive. Preview pics below... The story of the farmers who came to the Southern Plains of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas dreaming of prosperity, ...
