I have information in the custom address fields, which I have renamed to be more meaningful for my purposes. I have 2 old but beautiful Palm Vx's that still serve me well. I have a new Windows 7 - 64 bit desktop PC and cannot get them to HotSync. The new desktop has no COM3 port and the serial to USB adapter cable I have doesn't help. Does anyone have any ideas how to help this May/December relationship work out?

Hi. I've been reading with interest your attempts to get your Palm V to HotSync to your new PC. I too am wanting to do the exact same thing with my Palm Vx. My challenge is that my new PC's OS is Windows 7 64 bit. I have the serial to USB cable adapter but have had no luck getting any connection to my PC. Does anyone know whether or not what I want to do is even possible?

I like this thread. I have been entering addresses in my contact list manually. I search the TX manual but didnt see instructions for importing address. I would like to import addresses from yahoo or my comcast list. Does anyone have the import instructions available or can point me to it? Thanks

While this is not the same error you can use this process to remove Palm Desktop. http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/17 525_en.html If this does not resolve your issue please post back on why you need to remove Palm Desktop from your system

If the data is on the device then you can switch your conduits to handheld overwrites desktop and do a hotsync. If you have Palm Desktop 4.2 and lower you right click on the hotsync icon select custom. Select the username in the top that you sync with and then select Calendar/Datebook.
