Ok, as I said in my other post I am in recovery from meth abuse, and still just opioid's for pain relief. (Oxynorm aka Roxycodone) I have never had a problem with taking my dosage correctly, the "high" I get from them isn't a high I like. My fear is trading one addiction for another, and my doctor has never voiced an opinion just saying if it becomes a problem we will address it then. I ...

Hello Folks, I'm new to this board, but not to WebMD. I'm starting to have back pain. I've had very minor back pain for years, but lately it's gotten worse. Today my doc told me I should go to a Pain Control Center and get pain block shots. He gave me the name and # of 1 place but when I called for an appointment, I found out they don't take both of my insurances. Does anyone know if there ...

Hi Mom has a lot of pain in her back. She has compression fractures from osteoporosis. She gets some tramadol and tylenol, but that is it. We tried patches (Over the counter) and the NSAID ones - not much help. I tried a heating pad, even getting a timed one to reduce burn risk - she didn't want to use it. We also are trying Tumeric (or how ever you spell it...) which is an herbal ...

My Father is a 90 year old brittle diabetic with severe pain from spreading prostate cancer. The tumor is pressing on his intestines making him very constipated- even with an impressive bowel management protocol. He cannot take opiates due to the added constipation complications opiates cause, has been taken off Ibuprofen as it seemed to raise his blood potassium levels. He currently takes only ...

I have been reading more and more about people who are having to suffer with their pain because so many doctors are worried about abuse, dependency, overall ignorance of how so many people in chronic pain have to live. I recently had a long talk with my doctor about this very issue. I do understand that they are in fear of loosing their license for writing scripts for so many narcotics. But ...

I was trying to find the name of the "green cigar" an inhaled analgesic that I believe is popular in Australia and some of the other EU nations. Since the search function failed me here, any ideas? At present we only carry Morphine, myself and others have repeatedly pushed for Fentanyl, some are doing research for Tordal...

The very fact that you are worried about it is actually a good sign. I've been very fortunate, in my life, to have overcome the only two addictions I've had,,, cigarettes and sex. One I overcame with a lot of effort,,, the other by accident, you might say. Seems the problem you have with your doctor is one we all seem to have with ours,,, they don't want to spend a few minutes extra, ...

Replying to: Pain Control Centers and Insurance Hi and welcome. I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your question but I was concerned when I read your post. Has your Dr already done tests to see why your back is hurting? In my opinion that's what needs to be done before going to a pain control center. They need to know what they are treating before they use any needles in your back. I...

Replying to: Pain from AVN out of control teresakitty2 & others-I am so sorry that I snapped in last nights post. Today was my first day back at work after 6 weeks off. I had H1 and was on a vent due to my asthma, then got secondary pneumonia, and have been just really sick and traumatized besides being in horrible pain. I was scared about going back to work-and coming off pain meds. So...

Thank you for all of your information, friend. You know, I'm to the point of no return anymore. I'm learning to adjust to all these nuttso symptoms. Use the meds I have (and yes I take Dilantin many years). And just pray that God will help them heal. There's far too many things goin' on for me or any doctor to locate the intial problem off. There's too much frustration and ...

Jenny, the symptoms you are describing could be related to fibroid cysts. They could also be related to endometriosis or other conditions. If the pain continues I would strongly encourage you to visit a Dr.
