My Oncologist's Assistant just called me and told me the results of my PET scan: Cancer cells (mets) in the lungs are shrinking There were 12 large cancer cells (mets) in my liver, there are now 6. Crying, as I am happy and hopeful but scared too, three more months of the same chemo to come, please God let me be able to take it.

Hello: my mom had been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis. She had a biopsy on tumor on the head of the peancrease. The biopsy was negative. But the recent PET scan results show high uptake - which indicates high metabolism of the tumor. Does this mean that she has cancer? What else can the PET scan indicate? Please help. Thank you! I should also mention that my mom lost 80lbs, ...

I`m having a PET scan tomorrow to see if the cancer has spread, if not I`ll have to make up my mind finally about the big op. One consultant says it`s my only hope of a "recovery". Another tells me all the things that can go wrong! Sooo........ what do I do? I`m in such a dilemma, I know it`s up to me but please think about me tomorrow. It will be a while before I get the result so it`s back to ...

I just received the report of my PET/CT scan. It's the same as my 3 mo. clear, except for the same hypermetablic uptake (previously 3.7; max SUV 4.6) midline within the genioglossus musculature. To quote radiologist, "subjectively no significant interval change." Charm - we discussed the subject of not getting a totally clean scans after treatment. Any comments. The doctor's physical ...

So I've been reading the comments about Nuclear Medicine techs and the unavailability of jobs out there. I will be finishing up my second year of community college in May. I'll have an associate's degree in general studies with a concentration in biology, and afterwards was considering applying for my school's nuc med tech program. But some would dissuade me from this occupation ...
