I was wondering if anyone has fitted a Power Commander V to an 07 R1? I read that the new PCV only works for 2009 bikes or newer. True or not? Regards Patrick

I have a 1983 Ranger with the 2.3 and I believe the PCV valve is causing the truck to sputter. 1) I was wondering where the PCV valve is? I think it is right behind the alternator but could someone verify that? 2) Can you change the PCV valve without removing the alternator? These might be stupid questions but this PCV valve is something I know nothing about, I checked my chilton's ...

I've always heard that Chrysler 2.4s in PT Cruisers lose a fair amount of oil through the PCV system since the PCV valve screws into the valve cover (high velocity air flow exposed to the oil mist under the cover) and since the hose is very short and horizontal (no opportunity for the oil to "pool" and drain back through the PCV valve when the engine is turned off. So I made myself a trap out of...

SPI Performance Chat

PCV Question for SPI I saw another 2.0 SPI with a breather filter where the PCV valve was located. I didn't know if I should place a breather filter here or place it where it goes into the intake. Planning on running a short ram air intake and the PCV filter inside the intake box is really filthy! Thanks.

Found some interesting info one night looking through posts in LS1tech. This thread involves some conversation with PCV setups, the OP has what seems to be a 7.0 on a LS2 or 6 motor. There was some really good info given out at the bottom of page 3 and the top of 4 I believe by a poster named TLewis4095. Hi all. With a PD blower, would I need to bypass the PCV valve and run filters off my valve covers rather than running a hose from the VC to the TB? I've heard of guys running 'catch cans'...is this something I should contemplate using? Thanks

Hey guys, I just had a thought about my oil leaks, the PO removed all the emissions stuff, including the PCV system, could this have an effect on my oil seals, like the crankshaft seal due to more pressure built up?

I'm still trying to figure out the whole vacuum system. Yesterday I disconnected the line to the canister from the PCV valve and it idled lower (I could hear the suction through the open hole in the valve) but it seemed to drive better? When connected, the line is either clogged or when sucking it doesn't do much because the line tends to pinch shut. I'm going to replace the line and re-try it...

I have a (nearly rust free) 88 Cherokee Limited with 197K on its trustworthy AMC 4.0. The problem is, the motor has developed a fairly significant amount of "blow by" and is pushing oil out the pcv tube into my airbox and onto the ground. My quiestion is, am I better off having this motor re-built, buy a re-manufactured engine, or swaping it for a later 4.0 from a donor rig? I am thinking a ...
