Howdy Cowpokes, I recently needed to temporarily install a PCI Express card to use an external RAID via eSATA. On the first try, the RAID didn't mount on the Desktop, so I downloaded a driver from the company website and it eventually mounted. Now after I removed the PCI card and reset the Expansion Slot Utility to it's original setting, I no longer see my secondary internal drive (a 1 TB ...

In the process of replacing my X61t's 4965AGN with an Atheros ABG card (for hackintoshing), I stripped the heads of the screws holding in the Mini-PCI card. The screws were so tight that they chipped my precision drivers instead of turning. I have the Atheros card installed in the other slot (it works fabulously, by the way; it picks up stronger signals than the Intel card, despite lacking fancy ...

I've been thinking about getting a Video Capture card to convert some of the home videos(standard definition) into AVI files and my PC does not have PCI-express slot. So, I have option of getting a video capture card with PCI bus or USB 2.0. Which would perform better(have better data transfer rate)? PCI or USB2? I currently run a pair of 4890s in Crossfire on my Rampage II Extreme motherboard (see sigs for specs). They occupy PCI-E slots 1 and 3, giving both space to ventilate heat. As far as I know, the electrical configuration of the RIIE is x16/x16/x8 when two cards occupy slot 1 and 2. When two cards occupy slot 1 and 3, I'm not sure what happens. Question: 1) Would this mean that my slot 1 ...
