I was driving the NJTP this week and noticed there was construction off the shoulder. It looked like a lot of land was being cleared just after you passed the PATP exit headed north. Is this part of the NJTP widening? Has the project started? My other question...at what point on the NJTP does it switch from being a local road for NYC metro area commuters to long distance traffic?...

Too many of these servers are outside of the domain. If I could use Active Directory, then the query would be relatively simple and I could just set up a linked server and do everything that I need from within SQL Server. -PatP

You can easily link different databases in Microsoft SQL Server, but if you are setting this up from scratch just make separate tables within a single database. One database will be easier than many. -PatP

I'd create a connection table with two columns, from_port and to_port. Create a unique constraint on from_port, a unique constraint on to_port, and a check constraint to make sure that from_port does not equal to_port (unless you have to allow for loopback plugs). This actually need sto be done before SQL Server even sees the data. Each of the .NET languages has diffent string handling functions, so there isn't a "one size fits all" solution. I'll move this thread to the ASP forum for you. It will probably get better answers there. -PatP
