hi just recently got a overclocked bundle at 4ghz however on boot it shows as 3.8 but windows shows as 2.67 i have also tried cpu-z which shows specification as 920 @ 2.67? is it actually running at the overclocked speed or lower? thanks

This is really weird. I've tried overclocking before I got this problem. Back then, I found that the extra MHz only meant that any app will use a higher procentage of cpu... And occasionally it will spike at 100% for no good reason. Now, my PC is running overclocked. because when I set my bios to default I get seemingly random BSODs all the time.

I was also wondering whether a 550 (overclocked at 3.9G) would be able to handle an overclocked 5850 or 5870. Which GPU is better for that CPU? Thanks in advance. P.S. If is matters the rest of the configuration is 785 motherboard, 2x2 DDR3 1300.

Would it tell me in windows 7 if my I7 920 is overlcoked or would it just tell me the stock speed. Because ive brough an overclocked machined but in windows it says its running at stock speed.

I could drop in another GTX260-216 Then I realized that the Antec Smartpower 550W probably wouldn't be gutsy enough to run two GTX260's and an overclocked Q6600 (when I get around to overclocking it that is... ). Hi, I have 2 E5530 processors on order and need to provide for cooling. Can anyone recommend a good but quiet cooler? Indeed, given that dual socket configurations can't be overclocked can I passively cool them? If so, with what? Clearly, I'm looking for a cool but quiet workhorse... Regards, Dave
