Is the universe just a life form. And inside of us there is a universe. I mean the way the stars and atoms, despite their size, work relatively the same way. All of the empty space of space is so similar to the empty space we see between electrons and the nucleus of an atom. Maybe its a stretch, but... I may have found my religion.

Think about it. We started with the Big Bang, and the universe will end with the Big Crunch, right? The Big Bang, for those of you who don't know, is essentially the theory that the universe began as a singularity, a single point. The pressure built up in that singularity until it started expanding. Now, eventually, the universe will not have enough pressure to continue expanding, and it will ...

Our universe is just an infinitesimal in the multiverse: the set of all mathematical possibilities . By simple extension, anything that is mathematically possible exists ( in its own separate reality, which is different from ours !). Ergo there is no need to invoke the Big-Sky-Daddy-fine-tuned-our-universe argument! Your friend in atheism rationalism and science Armchair ...

I thought this would be of interest to BAUT members, but wasn't sure where to put it, so here it is! An article from the December 1932 issue of Popular Science magazine, describing the new theory from Lemaitre about our universe! This article was published only 3 years after Hubble discovered the redshift-distance relationship. I found it interesting how little the theory has changed ...

Anyone else remember National Geographic Picture Atlas of Our Universe ? Over on the Free Space forum, there's a good thread about how cSers' interest/obsession with space began, and several posters mention specific books that helped "hook" them at an early age. This was mine. Got a copy from my grandfather one Christmas; I must have been seven or eight at the time. That discussion ...

Ok Yesterday my friend and I went fishing, this topic was brought up. We had a lot of time since no fish were bitting. He stated that he thinks that Our planet is one of a kind, with the only life forms out there. I know it is only my opinion but, how can someone think we are one in a kazillion? The amount of stars like our sun in just our galaxy is like 200-400 million not including planets ...

Its a scenario of apocalyptic proportions but in a theory that is rising in popularity among physicists our universe may not only have the potential to collide with another but may have already done so in the distant past. "Relaxing on an idyllic beach on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean, Anthony Aguirre vividly describes the worst natural disaster he can imagine. It is, in fact, probably ...

No, our world does no longer reflect the true nature of the universe. We are reversing everything with a poorly used technology.
