I saw someone post about Cymed ostomy bags about 2 weeks ago, so I requested a sample. I went ahead and tried a bag and sadly have to report that it just wasnt for me. The bags look very nice, and I was quite hopeful, but this is what I found: 1) The film that attaches the bag was not comfortable on the skin. 2) They only make bags up to a maximum of 1 1/2" stoma. That happens to be my ...

Hi All, I've been posting on the UC board but this is my first time posting here. My 3-1/2yo daughter was diagnosed with moderate to severe pancolitis at the end of August. She was on a course of pred (first IV then oral which finished in early Nov) and on Pentasa since diagnosis. We put her on the SCD at the beginning of Oct. She is now having another flare-up, which seems to be even worse ...

" When she becomes a teenager, she will probably as all her friends will, unfortunately, always have body issues whether she has an ostomy or not. If it's not her ostomy, it will be her nose, legs, tummy, eyes, pimples, etc. Mine has always been my ...

Lizzie, I forgot to tell you Medical University of South Carolina has some amazing small bowel and stomach emtpying tests. I should have gone there for my original issue. They have it down pat as far as test availability goes. As far as beating yourself up about having your first ileostomy reversed, don't bother. Remember our mantra, "We were making the best decision we could at the time ...

Hey, So I've been to see the derm now. They gave me injections of something called Kenalog -- which is, I think, a steroid. I got it done initially on Wednesday (I got an appointment in ONE day) and will get another dose in three weeks. I will also be on protopic as soon as I get pre-approval from my insurance, but for now I'm on another ointment (which is apparently an ointment form of...

jrjr43...I think DH and I are all too familar with your situation. DH's stomach looks like a road map with scars, peaks and valleys. He uses primarily Hollister ostomy supplies that we cut/alter to fill in and level out areas of his stomach so we can get the flange to last about 36 hours generally. I would advise you to have your GI make an appointment with an ostomy nurse to help you ...
